St Johns Wort is a plant which can grow to 3ft in height and has long, oval, dark green leaves. It is native to Britain, Europe and Asia.
St Johns Wort is an alkaloid so acts as a heart and artery stimulant and also assists in the control of viral infections.

Normal Dosage
Around 900mg daily is suggested for depression/anxiety. For other problems consult a qualified practitioner.
Possible Side Effects
The most common side effect is photosensitivity, or increased sensitivity to sunlight.
It may result in fair/light skin being burned and damaged in sunlight.
May produce a stronger reaction to alcohol.
Interacts with some prescribed medications, so always consult your doctor before taking St Johns Wort.
May interact with the contraceptive pill, and reduce its effectiveness.
Do not take during pregnancy/lactation.
