Vitamin B12
Summary
Also known as Cobalamin, Cyanocobalamin, Hydroxycobalamin.
Vitamin B12 is part of a group of vitamins known as the B Complex – these are all water soluble and are essential in enabling the body to use energy from food and to facilitate the production of normal, healthy tissue.
Vitamin B12 is necessary for the production of red blood cells and assists with the growth and function of the spinal chord and nerves.
It is also needed for Calcium absorption and regeneration and Vitamin B12 is essential for the metabolism of carbohydrate, fat and protein – enables the body to convert these into energy.
Vitamin B12 contributes towards a healthy central nervous system, aids growth in children and increases energy.
